Speaker Topic: Strategies for Defending Against Ransomware's Heavy Assault on Business in 2019
Abstract: The biggest mistake you can make is thinking ransomware is an "old" topic. It is back, and new variants like Ryuk are tailor-made for maximum disruption. Businesses continue to get exploited, with the average cleanup effort costing hundreds of thousands of collars (DHS estimates the average impact to be $1 million per incident). All is not lost, however. With a sound strategy, you can minimize your risk of being affected. This talk will focus on the threat, impacts, and realistic approaches you can take to protect yourself that won't break the bank.
